Windmills, clogs and a girls best friend

An early and rainy start to the morning at a Dutch village that showcases the making and sells cheese and clogs. After tasting the cheeses and stroopwaffles, the rain had turned to drizzle and we watched the windmills at work.

Within Amsterdam, lunch at the Nude Burger (cheese frites and a nude burger) - so called because you will want to take your clothes off and then a canal cruise in a glass boat allowed us to take in the sights by water.

The afternoon consisted of a visit to the Royal Coster Diamonds and being locked in the room while the diamonds are displayed. The shop has earned the title Royal, however does produce the gems for royalty (think the queen of England’s royal crown) and stars around the world. As they say, diamonds are a girls best friend, and my husband did not disappoint with a souvenir of my own, along with champagne while the purchase was finalised.

Evening in the main city with a visit to the Dam square and Red light district.
